Family by Design (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the FamilyOS web application (“FamilyOS,” the “Service”), accessible at https://app.familybydesign.app, along with related websites and services.

A. Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use FamilyOS, we may collect:

Family member profiles (including children, if added by a parent or legal guardian)

B. Google Account & Calendar Data (If You Connect Google)

If you choose to connect your Google account, we may access Google Calendar data only with your explicit consent, including:

Calendar list information (calendar names and IDs)

Calendar events (such as titles, dates, times, descriptions, recurrence rules, and related metadata)

We do not access Gmail, contacts, files, or any Google data unrelated to calendar functionality.

C. Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect limited technical information such as:

IP address

Browser and device information

Usage data (features used, pages viewed, timestamps)

Error logs and performance metrics

This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Provide and operate FamilyOS features

Enable family scheduling, task management, and household systems

Sync calendar events when Google Calendar is connected

Allow users to choose which calendars are enabled or disabled within FamilyOS

Maintain account security and prevent misuse

Improve reliability, functionality, and user experience

3. Google User Data & Limited Use Disclosure

FamilyOS’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

Google Calendar data is used only to provide user-visible calendar synchronization features within FamilyOS

Google user data is not used for advertising

Google user data is not sold or shared with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service

Access to Google data is limited to the minimum scopes required for the intended functionality

Google Calendar data is processed automatically and is not reviewed by humans, except where necessary for troubleshooting or support at the user’s request

4. Data Storage & Security

Sensitive information, including OAuth access and refresh tokens, is stored securely on the server and is never exposed publicly

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest where appropriate

Access to user data is restricted to authorized systems and personnel

While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information.

5. Data Sharing

We may share information only:

With trusted service providers (such as hosting, infrastructure, and monitoring services) strictly as required to operate FamilyOS

When required by law or legal process

To protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Service

We do not share personal or Google user data with advertisers.

6. Children’s Privacy

FamilyOS is designed for use by families.

Profiles for children may only be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children outside of what a parent or guardian intentionally provides within the Service.

7. Data Retention

User data is retained while your account remains active

If you disconnect Google Calendar, calendar synchronization stops and associated Google calendar data may be deleted within a reasonable period

If you delete your account, personal data associated with your account will be deleted or anonymized unless retention is required by law

Users may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting [email protected] or by using in-app account deletion tools where available.

8. Your Choices & Controls

You may:

Enable or disable connected calendars within FamilyOS

Disconnect Google Calendar at any time

Revoke Google access via your Google Account security settings

Request account or data deletion by contacting us

9. Third-Party Services & Links

FamilyOS may integrate with or link to third-party services. This Privacy Policy applies only to FamilyOS. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
