Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of FamilyOS, operated by Family by Design(“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including the FamilyOS web application available at https://app.familybydesign.app and related websites and services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

FamilyOS is a family operating system designed to help households organize schedules, tasks, routines, goals, communication, and related household systems. Features may include (but are not limited to):

Calendars and scheduling

Task and responsibility tracking

Family member profiles

Behavior, growth, and reward systems

Meal planning, inventory, and household planning tools

Third-party integrations (such as Google Calendar)

The Service may evolve over time, and features may be added, modified, or removed.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Accounts are intended to be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian when used by families with children. You are responsible for:

All activity under your account

Ensuring information you provide is accurate

Maintaining the security of your login credentials

3. Family Members & Children

FamilyOS allows adults to create and manage profiles for family members, including children.

You represent and warrant that:

You are a parent or legal guardian (or have authority) to create profiles for any children added

You are responsible for all content, settings, and permissions related to child profiles

We do not independently verify family relationships.

4. Google Calendar & Third-Party Integrations

If you choose to connect third-party services (such as Google Calendar), you authorize FamilyOS to access and process data from those services only as required to provide the requested functionality.

You may disconnect integrations at any time from within FamilyOS or through the third party’s account settings.

FamilyOS’s use of Google data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create or submit to the Service (“User Content”).

By using the Service, you grant FamilyOS a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.

You agree not to submit content that:

Is unlawful, harmful, or abusive

Violates the rights of others

Is misleading or malicious

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for unlawful purposes

Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access

Interfere with or disrupt the Service

Reverse engineer or misuse the platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of FamilyOS is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Service Availability & Changes

FamilyOS is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.

We do not guarantee:

Continuous availability

Error-free operation

That all features will remain unchanged

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

9. No Professional Advice

FamilyOS provides organizational and informational tools only.

The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, or parenting advice. Any decisions you make based on information within the Service are your responsibility.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Family by Design shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) to use the Service in the previous 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Family by Design from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the Service

Your violation of these Terms

Your User Content

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

You violate these Terms

Your use poses a risk to the Service or other users

Upon termination, access to the Service may be removed and data handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Family by Design is organized, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
